Afternoon tea at Brgr.co, Soho London

Afternoon tea?  At a burger joint?  Seriously?  Yep!  If you love American food and British afternoon teas, you should really check this place out.

Burgers for afternoon tea might not be right if you are a snob.  Afternoon tea purists will scoff at the idea as they prefer nibbling at their dainty crustless finger sandwiches and little cakes while sipping delicately at their tea.  If you want something essentially British, well, this is definitely not the joint for you.

I've been hunting high and low for another afternoon tea joint while in London last month and of course at the same time looking for a deal.  I'm still crying over the closure of one of my favourite afternoon tea joint in Liberty (If I remembered correctly, we didn't have to wait long at the queue and less than £10 each shared between 2 people with delicious sandwiches, cupcakes and tea)

Anyhow, I digress...  This was on special from Bookatable.  For £17 and when most people in Stockholm have dinner at 6pm, we decided to book our afternoon tea at 5.30pm!  Quite a good deal as it includes a glass of Champagne,  unfortunately both Kitty and myself couldn't drink, so while she opted for a glass of lemonade, I had hot tea instead.

The place started filling up at around 6.30 - 7pm.  Most people are here for their burgers and afterall, it's dinner time.  I'm glad we weren't rushed by anyone to leave as we lingered for a bit after eating (we were discussing what we'll have for dinner straight after...  I know..  I'm a very bad girl!)

A big fat glass of ice tea

Clockwise from Top left:  Bucket of hot chips, vanilla milkshake, brownie, cheesecake in a glass, doughnut circle and 3 little burgers (slightly sweet buns)
L to R:  lobster in a bun, chicken in a bun and beef in a bun.  My favourite is definitely the beef in the bun.  Medium rare and so damn juicy!

Time to pay the bill!

We enjoyed ourselves.  The music started blaring and was quite loud, but they turned it a notch down.  The food were savoury and sweet and were small portion which is good as you get to taste every bite and not having to waste any food.  Will definitely be back!
