My fading Henna tattooed left hand with my extra new ring! Finally picked it up today!! My left hand looks so busy I'm slightly blinded and unsure where to look. Hehe
Born in Asia, brought up in Australia, resided in London and just left Stockholm. Singapore is now my home... I enjoy many things, especially fine food, travel and photography. I do have a creative side which I love indulging when the mood strikes. Please bear with me as I tend to jot down things that interest me - Mostly travel and food... occasionally my random thoughts about things that bother me. Do pop on over and drop me a line. I love hearing from you. Xx

Singapore's Changi Airport
Now I understand why Changi airport has been voted the best in the world.
Arrived here in Singapore just past 1am and thankfully there's this Rainforest lounge which is opened to anyone. It's upstairs, just opposite the Emirate's lounge.
For 4 hours and for just around S$30, you get access to their lounge where the chairs are not that comfy (for trying to sleep)but still doable if you are just sitting around. You'll also receive a towel to have a shower, access to their food (a variety of drinks, instant noodle in cups, some hot food such as fried rice etc.. You get to charge your phone and of course free wi-fi. Which helps as eventhough wifi is free all over the airport, the signal is quite weak at this lounge.
Wandering around I saw their massage area too which cost separately. And I also found their sleeping cubicles which is extra of course. So so tempted to sleep in there for a few hours..
But overall pretty nifty!
And if you have luggage you don't want to lug around, check them at their storage area which is near Watson. It's manned and you just deposit your luggage there, pay and collect your slip. For 24 hours storage, it's only S$4.30!!!
Gonna have a catnap as I'll be off to the city later in the morning. I have basically nearly 20 hours to kill before my flight out!
Cheerios!

Thailand
Last few days have been fun. Attended an Indian wedding which last for 2 days at Marriott resort at Rayong and spend a few days in Bangkok which consist of eating and getting ripped off by cab drivers and sitting through non stop traffic jams.. I'm off to Singapore for a day before finally returning home to Stockholm. Trying to prepare for the cold!! *fingers crossed*
Till then!!

Cheap Taiwanese food at Home Town Cafe, Sunnybank
Sunnybank sure has a lot of cheap asian eateries and this little cafe sure takes the cake. I'm actually quite surprised that we have never ventured in here before. Today, while doing our asian grocery near by, we happened to walk across and found this little place. It's just inside the carpark, opposite Welcome grocery store.

Dad actually was quite excited as there were quite a variety of vegetarian dishes and I've always love eating Taiwanese food as I love the little side dishes in their meal set or mince meat on rice variation they have.
We were there about 4.45pm and we got a pretty limited menu but was advised we could order from their bigger menu after 5pm as their chef was having a break until 5pm ;)
The prices were really reasonable for food and drinks. $3 for bubble tea! The usual places were charging $4 - $4.50 and $3 for their ice blend dessert (which 3 of us got to share!) - pretty decent sized dishes and to top it all, the staff were really friendly!
I would have love to order their 'set meal' which consist of meat on rice, salad and soup... but unfortunately their soup is pork tripe in pickle soup. Yuck! Sorry, not too keen on internal organs.. Guess I'm not asian enough!
Definitely would love to come back here. Generous serving! I don't think I could taste the MSG, but parents said they were thirsty after their meal. Just noticed that their vegetarian meal is more expensive than their set meal by 30 cents. Weird??

Vegetarian red braised tofu with gravy and rice ($9.50) - I had this and love it! Really tasty with loads of gravy. The beancurd was deep fried and soft inside. |
